Founded in 2018, EDF Serviços emerged from the recognized excellence of EDF power solutions in Operations & Maintenance (O&M) management, offering solutions for other thermal and hydroelectric plants. With teams trained for hybrid operations and possessing extensive knowledge in thermal and hydro projects, EDF Serviços serves as a strategic arm for diversifying the EDF Power Solutions portfolio and directly contributes to the modernization and development of the Brazilian electricity sector.
Since 2019, EDF Serviços has commercially operated the Sinop Hydroelectric Power Plant (Sinop Energia), with the support of EDF Group’s hydroelectric engineering. The plant is remotely operated by the Systems Operation Center, located at EDF power solutions’ headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, over 1800 km away. The company also handles the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the Marlim Azul Thermoelectric Power Plant (UTE Marlim Azul) in Macaé (RJ). This project, with a generation capacity of 565 MW, marks the first O&M venture in an asset without EDF Group participation in Brazil.
