EDF power solutions inaugurates new Operations Center and advances in remote asset management in Latin America
The company’s first facility in the region, the Center reinforces the strategy of innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable portfolio growth.
Rio de Janeiro, September 24, 2026- EDF power solutions has inaugurated its System Operations Center (SOC), located at the company’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. This space is the company’s first facility in Latin America, representing a significant advancement in the operational management of EDF power solutions’ assets in Brazil.
Designed for the monitoring and remote operation of assets, the SOC allows for the integration of strategic vision with operations, centralizing information and operational processes. It also promotes greater efficiency in tracking asset performance and helps reduce operational risks. The center supports the growth of the company’s service portfolio with a high standard of performance.
“The new System Operations Center of EDF power solutions represents a significant advancement in the management of our assets by integrating technology, operational intelligence, and process standardization, led by a dedicated and highly skilled team. We also bring greater agility in decision-making, strengthening safety and operational excellence, two of our key pillars of action. This is an important achievement that enhances competitiveness and aligns strategy with operations, especially at a time of greater complexity in the market and the Brazilian electrical system,” explains Luísa Moreira, Chief Asset Operations Officer of EDF power solutions in Brazil.
EDF power solutions operates and maintains the Sinop and Dardanelos Hydroelectric Plants in Mato Grosso, both of which are already monitored and operated remotely by the SOC. In addition to these, last month, the Pirapora Photovoltaic Plants located in Minas Gerais also joined the portfolio of assets under remote management by the Center. With this integration, the SOC now manages over 1 GW of capacity.
The company’s plan is that, by the end of 2026, all of its owned assets, including wind and transmission, will be under remote operation. At that point, the company will have a total of 2.1 GW of installed capacity integrated into the SOC.
Focus on Operations & Maintenance
EDF power solutions has been providing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services since 2018, with specialized teams and extensive knowledge in different generation technologies. Over the years, the O&M division has established itself as an important asset for the company, contributing to the optimization of the assets under its management.
